Teardrop Hotels launch luxury villas in Sri Lanka: Teardrop Villas

The first villas to be introduced into the Teardrop Villas portfolio are the iconic 41 and 42 Lighthouse Street, located in the heart of UNESCO World Heritage Site, Galle Fort. Both villas are a short walk from the town’s fascinating historical landmarks, museums, shops, and cafes and close to the stunning local beaches, ideal for swimming, diving, surfing and whale and dolphin watching in deeper waters.

Once voted by UK Tatler as Galle’s ‘sexiest’ villa, 41 Lighthouse Street is a three-bedroom, luxury private dwelling which can accommodate a maximum of six-seven guests. Having undergone a three-year renovation, the two-storied villa offers a beautiful swimming pool in verdant gardens, (among the largest found in the Galle Fort), and an intimate base from which to explore Asia’s only living fort.

Originally the home of a 18th-century Dutch merchant, 42 Lighthouse Street is a grand four-bedroom villa for up to nine guests, complete with elegant living spaces, curated for a relaxed and authentic Sri Lankan holiday. Highlights of staying here include, watching the world go by on the veranda, or enjoying the ‘secret’ sky terrace and the romantic sunset views over the Galle Fort ramparts and Indian Ocean.
