The Salon at The Relais Henley

25 April 2022 – Located in the elegant Palm Court at the stylish boutique hotel, The Relais Henley in Oxfordshire, The Salon is a new private members’ club. The vision of owner, Grace Leo, the new members’ club is tailored to the emerging number of entrepreneurs and innovators, who without need for a full-time office, desire sophisticated elegant places to work away from home and connect with like-minded individuals.

In addition to the co-working spaces, members of The Salon will have access to an inspiring calendar of events, from intimate breakfasts designed to spark interesting debate to convivial social gatherings.

Inspired by the Salons of the 17th century, when a ‘Saloniere’ would act as the provocateur, selecting topics and leading discussions to ignite the art of conversation, Grace has curated a thought provoking and insightful programme of speakers providing members with insights from senior leaders of politics and culture, as well as more light-hearted occasions paired with interesting food, drinks, and entertainment.

The line-up of speakers includes small, intimate breakfasts, which began on Wednesday 30 March, hosted by Simon Jones of Chime Communications who will be leading a discussion on ‘Reclaiming Trust in a World that Lies’, followed by Simon Foy QPM, former Head of Homicide and Serious Crime Command for the Metropolitan Police, discussing the ‘Contemporary Challenges of Policing’, taking place on 27 April. On 26 May, Mark Turnbull, Political Campaign and Conflict Transformation Specialist will discuss if ‘Democracy can Survive a Digital Revolution’. Sam Olsen, Founder & CEO, Evenstar discusses ‘China: Beyond the Myth’ on 23 June.

Evening events include a cookery demonstration with Mosimann’s on 20 April, where chef Ray Neve showcased the Belgravia club’s signature risotto paired with delicious wines,  followed by an insightful evening with Lord Hall, former Director General on 19 May and on 8th June, Mc’nean Whisky will host an evening of music and cocktails.

Benefits will include preferential member rates at Relais Retreats and other luxury brands.

Applications are now open for membership with annual fees set at £750; further details can be found at here.
